Free Edition Plus
When the program asks for the license, we recommend choosing “Free-Edition Plus” if you want to TEST VivaDesigner for a limited time. The “Free-Edition Plus” replaces the previous demo version as of version 11. The functionality of this version is almost identical to the “Commercial Edition”. After the trial period expires, the version can however still be used as a free of charge “Free Edition”, or you can unlock the version with a license key that you receive when you place an order.
But why did we call it “Free Edition Plus”?
As software users ourselves, we have always experienced the frustration that comes with time-limited demo versions. While it is understandable that companies need to protect their business model, it is a problem for users if it is not possible to continue working with the documents created once the test phase has ended. As a result, many users only invest half-heartedly in testing the software from the outset.
The term “demo version” was also often misleading. Many users wrongly assumed that the free “Free Edition” offered the full range of functions and that there was therefore no need for a time-limited trial version. Only when users reached the limits of the “Free Edition” did they often realize that a “demo version” would have been useful after all.
For these reasons, we have decided to call it “Free Edition Plus”. This allows interested parties to test the software with its full range of functions for 30 days and then continue to use it in the limited “Free Edition”. This gives users the opportunity to thoroughly evaluate the software without losing their work after the trial period has expired.
Free Edition
When the program asks for the license, choose “Free Edition” if you want to use VivaDesigner permanently free of charge on a private or commercial basis. The program functionality is limited for licensing reasons. You can however still open documents from the other desktop or Web editions, edit, save and print them. The “Free Edition” may be used for both private and commercial purposes.
In the editions overview you can see in detail which functions are possessed by the Free Edition compared to other editions.
